Terms of Use

DummyDrop is free to use. These terms explain what you may do with it, what it is meant for, and what the publisher does and does not promise.

Last updated: 11 October 2026 · applies to DummyDrop version 1.1.0 and this website

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the DummyDrop browser extension (“DummyDrop”) and to this website. DummyDrop is published by Harshil Kachhadiya, an individual (“the publisher”). By installing or using DummyDrop, or by using this website, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use DummyDrop, and uninstall it if it is installed. You may use DummyDrop only if you are legally able to accept these terms where you live.

DummyDrop is a tool for testing, development, demonstrations and filling forms with placeholder data. It scans the page you open it on, lists its form fields, and fills the ones you choose with generated dummy values.

2. Licence

DummyDrop is free to use. The publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use DummyDrop on your own devices, for any lawful purpose, including your work, at no charge.

DummyDrop is not open-source software. The publisher keeps all rights in it that these terms do not expressly give you. Except where the law allows it regardless of this term, you may not:

  • copy, modify or create derivative works of DummyDrop;
  • redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense or repackage it, including publishing a copy or modified version in any extension store or website;
  • decompile, reverse engineer or try to extract source code from it;
  • remove or hide notices of ownership; or
  • use its name, logo or icon in a way that suggests the publisher endorses you or your product. You may link to this website.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use DummyDrop lawfully and responsibly. In particular, you will not use it:

  • on websites or systems you do not own or have permission to test, or in breach of the terms of the website you are using;
  • to submit false information in order to deceive, defraud or impersonate a person or organisation, or to get around identity, age, eligibility or verification checks;
  • to create spam, fake accounts or fake orders, or to overload, disrupt or abuse a service;
  • to attempt a real payment, or to submit generated card, Aadhaar-style, PAN-style, GSTIN, IFSC or bank account values to any bank, payment provider, tax or government service as if they were real; or
  • for any purpose that breaks a law that applies to you.

4. The data it generates

Please read this section carefully. The values DummyDrop produces are made up, and you are responsible for how you use them.

  • Names, addresses, companies and numbers are fictional. They are generated at random from bundled lists. Any resemblance to a real person, business, address or phone number is a coincidence. A generated phone number may belong to someone, so do not call or message it.
  • Email addresses use the domains in your settings. example.com and example.org are reserved by internet standards for examples (see RFC 2606) and are not used for real mailboxes. Other domains, including test.com, which is in the default list, and any common provider you add, are ordinary domains, and a generated address on them could belong to a real person. Do not send email to generated addresses. If you need to be sure, keep only the reserved example domains in the settings.
  • Card numbers are well-known test numbers published by payment providers for sandbox use. They pass the standard checksum but are not real accounts, and they will not work for real payments.
  • Aadhaar-style, PAN-style, GSTIN, IFSC and bank account values have the right length, structure and, where applicable, checksum, so that forms accept their format. They are not issued by any authority, and a generated value can happen to match a real one. Never present them as real identification or account details.
  • Valid format is not a guarantee. A website may still refuse a value because of its own rules, or may reject it because it looks automated.

5. Websites you use it on

DummyDrop never submits a form for you, but you may. What happens on a website after you fill its form, and whether that site allows automated or test data, is between you and that site. You are responsible for following its terms and for any consequences of using DummyDrop there. DummyDrop is not affiliated with any website it fills.

6. Your data and privacy

DummyDrop does not collect or send your data; see the Privacy Policy. Your settings, values and profiles are stored on your own device. You are responsible for keeping backups: resetting DummyDrop, removing it, clearing your browser's data or a browser problem can delete them, and the publisher cannot restore them because the publisher never has a copy. Do not save real passwords or other secrets in DummyDrop.

7. No warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, DummyDrop and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. The publisher does not promise that DummyDrop will detect every field, that its values will be accepted by every website, form or server-side rule, that it will work with every browser version or page, or that it will be free of errors or interruptions.

8. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of data, profits, business or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, DummyDrop or this website, even if the publisher was told it could happen. Because DummyDrop is free, the publisher's total liability for any claim relating to it will not exceed the amount you paid for it, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.

9. Updates and availability

DummyDrop is updated through your browser's extension store. The publisher may change, suspend or stop providing DummyDrop or this website at any time, and has no duty to provide support or updates, though questions are welcome (see Contact).

10. Ending your use

You can stop using DummyDrop at any time by removing it from your browser. If you break these terms, your licence to use DummyDrop ends, and you must stop using it and uninstall it. Sections that by their nature should continue to apply after that (including sections 2, 4, 7, 8 and 12) do so.

11. Changes to these terms

The publisher may update these terms, for example when DummyDrop changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If you keep using DummyDrop after a change, you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, stop using it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

13. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and the publisher about DummyDrop. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If the publisher does not enforce a term, that is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.

14. Names and trademarks

DummyDrop is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, Microsoft, Brave, GitHub, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or any government body or other organisation whose name or format appears in or around it. Google, Chrome, Chrome Web Store, Microsoft, Edge, Brave, GitHub, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Aadhaar and other product, company and format names belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe what DummyDrop works with or generates.

15. Contact

To ask a question about these terms, please open an issue on the DummyDrop support tracker on GitHub. Issues there are public, so please do not include personal or sensitive information. More help is on the Support page.
